ValidatePassword (Function)
In French: ValideMotDePasse
Indicates whether the specified password is valid for the current user. The password can be:
  • the Windows authentication password
  • the password of WINDEV user groupware.
  • the password specified for locking applications (password specified by the LockAppPassword)function.
Example
IF ValidatePassword("MyPassword") = True THEN
        Info("User validated")
ELSE
        Info("Invalid password")
END
Syntax
<Result> = ValidatePassword(<Password> [, <Authentication>])
<Result>: Boolean
  • True if the password is correct,
  • False otherwise.
<Password>: Character string (with quotes)
Password to validate for the current user.
<Authentication>: Optional Integer constant
Password authentication method:
pwdGpwAuthentication performed by the user groupware of WINDEV.
pwdCustomAuthentication performed according to the password specified in LockAppPassword.
pwdWindowsAuthentication performed according to the Windows password.
If <Authentication> is not specified:
  • If LockAppPassword was used, the password is checked.
  • If the user groupware is enabled, the password is checked in relation to the user groupware.
  • Otherwise, the password is checked against the Windows account.
