Managing the Google AdWords site suggestions
Warning
From version 17, this feature is not available anymore. To use Google AdWords, see the corresponding Google API: https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/start
Overview
Google AdWords proposes the "SiteSuggestion" service. This service is used to get site suggestions for publishing the Google AdWords ads. These suggestions can be made according to:
  • category criteria.
  • topic criteria.
  • demographic criteria.
This help page explains how to use this service with the WLanguage functions.
Note: In the interface of Google AdWord, this service corresponds to the location targeting tool.
Reminder: To handle the Google AdWords service by programming, you must necessarily use the Google AdWords APIs. These APIs have a cost associated to them. GglAdWGetMethodCost is used to estimate the cost of each function.
Warning: Before using a feature linked to Google services, we strongly recommend that you check the license for using this service. Some restrictions may apply. The content of licenses may change over time.
PC SOFT is in no case responsible for the way the native access functions are used. Make sure that you comply with the license of service provider.
Caution: If you are using a proxy to access Internet, the proxy must be configured (Proxy) to use the Google functions.
How to proceed?

Principle

The "SiteSuggestion" service is used to get site suggestions for your ads by specifying different criteria. At each call, this service returns an array of gglAdWSiteSuggestion variables. Each suggestion contains the following information:
  • URL of the suggested site.
  • Approximate number of times the ad was shown to the site visitors during one day.
  • Type of ads accepted by the site.
Then, you have the ability to target your ads toward these URLs by creating campaigns targeted by location.

Using the "SiteSuggestion" service

To use the "SiteSuggestion" service:
  1. Create a gglAdWLanguageGeoTargeting variable. This variable contains all the characteristics of the area for which the suggestions must be sought (languages, countries, regions, &hellip).
  2. To perform a search according to demographic criteria, create a gglAdWDemographicsTarget variable. This variable will contain the preferences regarding the ethnic origin, the children, the age, the incomes, the gender, …
  3. Run the function corresponding to your search:
