From version 21, no Windows Phone project can be created anymore. Only the projects in Universal Windows 10 App mode are available.
The Windows Phone projects created with version 20 (or earlier) are automatically changed into projects in Universal Windows 10 App mode. See Developing applications in Universal Windows 10 App mode for more details.
Overview

To develop Windows Phone applications with WINDEV Mobile

  • the SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone of Microsoft. The SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone 7 (Software Development Kit) is a set of files and applications distributed by Microsoft in order to allow you to compile applications for the Windows Phone operating system.
  • the Zune software. This software is required to run the test of the Windows Phone applications.
CAUTION: The SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone can be installed on Windows Vista (service pack 2) and later versions (in 32 and 64 bits).
To run the test of the Windows Phone applications on a mobile device from WINDEV Mobile, you must register the phone used.

Where to find the SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone?

The SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone can be downloaded from the Microsoft site specific to the development for Windows Phone (http://create.msdn.com).
The version of SDK for Windows is found at the following address: http://create.msdn.com/en-us/home/getting_started.
Important:
  • These addresses are valid at the time this documentation is published.
  • We recommend that you check whether updates are available for the SDK on a regular basis.
  • WINDEV Mobile 16 was operating with the version 7.0 of SDK and it allowed you to create applications for the mobile devices running Windows Phone 7.0.
  • WINDEV Mobile 17 operates with the version 7.1 of SDK and it allows you to create applications for the mobile devices running Windows Phone 7.5.

How to install the SDK 7.1 for Windows Phone?

Once the downloaded file has been run, all the tools required to develop an application for Windows Phone are installed.

Where to find the Zune software?

The Zune software can be downloaded from the Zune site at the following address: http://zune.net/en-US/products/software/download/default.htm.
Important: This address is valid at the time this documentation is published.

How to install the Zune software?

Once the downloaded file has been run, all the necessary files are installed. All you have to do is start Zune in order to run the test of the Windows Phone applications.
Note: During the first start of the Zune software, you will have to answer the questions used to configure the software.
Registering the phone to run a test

Overview

To run a test from WINDEV Mobile on a Windows Phone phone, you must register the phone on which the tests will be run. Indeed, by default, only the applications coming from the "Market Place" can be installed on a phone.

How to proceed?

The different steps for registering a phone are as follows:
  1. Get a development license (against payment of fees) for Windows Phone. To do so, you must connect to the following address http://create.msdn.com/en-us/home/getting_started and click the "Sign up for App Hub" link.
  2. The development license includes an identifier (Windows Live ID) and a password.
  3. Connect the phone to the PC.
  4. Start the registration program included in the Windows Phone SDK. This program is installed in the following path by default: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Tools\Phone Registration\PhoneReg.exe". The identifier and the password are requested.
  5. The phone is recorded. It can be used to run the test of your Windows Phone applications developed with WINDEV Mobile.
