Overview
The home page is the first page of your site. This page is always a static page.
In a dynamic site, the home page is one of the elements used to reference the site.
You have the ability to choose a preset home page or a static page found in your site.You have the ability to choose a static page found in your site.
Defining and modifying the home page
Several methods can be used to define and choose the home page of a site:
  • Via the "Project explorer" pane.
  • From the project graph or the dashboard.From the project graph.
  • In the project description.
Note: A home page is also proposed:
  • During the project creation: you have the ability to include a preset home page to simplify the referencing of the site. See Creating a project for more details.
  • During the test of a static project, if no home page was defined. See Running the test of a project for more details.

Defining the home in the "Project explorer" pane

To define the home page of the project:
  1. In the "Project explorer" pane, select the page that will become the new home page. This page must be a static page of your site.
  2. Select "Home page" from the popup menu. This option is available only if the selected page is a static page.
  3. The corresponding HTML page is automatically generated and the home page is defined. The icon is used to identify the home page in the "Project explorer" pane.

Defining a home page in the project editor

To define the home page from the project graph:
  1. Display the project graph ("Project .. Project graph").On the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .
  2. In the project graph, select the page that will be the new home page. This page must be a static page of your site.
  3. Select "Home page" from the popup menu. This option is available only if the selected page is a static page.
  4. The corresponding HTML page is automatically generated and the home page is defined.
To define the home page from the project dashboard:
  1. Display the project dashboard ("Project .. Project dashboard").
  2. Click the "Home page" light.
  3. A window allows you to select the home page among the static pages of the site or to create a preset home page.
  4. Validate. The files of the home page are automatically generated.

Defining a home page in the project description

To define the home page in the project description:
  1. Display the project description ("Project .. Project description").Display the description of the project (on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click "Description").
  2. In the "Home page" list, select one of the static pages of your site.
  3. Validate. The files of the home page are automatically generated.
Using a preset home page
The home page of your site can be a static page of your site or a home page chosen among the preset pages proposed by WEBDEV.
To use a preset home page:
  1. Select "File .. New .. Page".
    • Click "Page" in the wheel that is displayed.
    • The wizard for page creation starts.
  2. Select the "Blank/Templates" tab.
  3. Select the page type ("Home") and validate.
  4. You can choose the home page of your site among the static pages of your site or among the preset home pages.
Created files corresponding to the home page
When a home page is defined for your project (static or dynamic), the following files are automatically created in the <Project Name>_WEB directory as well as in each language sub-directory:
  • Home.htm
  • Default.htm
  • Index.htm
When installing a WEBDEV site, this page will be used as the first page of the site. The address for starting the site will have to start this page.
