Overview
Any project manager would like to have a global and synthetic view of the status of his projects.
Any quality manager would like to know the number of critical bugs and follow their status.
The product manager would like to know what new features are requested by the users.
The developer wants to quickly start the most common project elements, sections of code, ...
The dashboard gives an answer to all these wishes. The dashboard includes several lights that provide a global view of the different indicators. The lights switch from green to red whenever a section of the project requires special attention.
Configuring the dashboard

Displaying the project graph or the dashboard

To display the dashboard of your project, all you have to do is select "Project .. Project dashboard" ( ).
To display the project graph from the dashboard, select "Project .. Project graph" ( ).
To display the dashboard of your project: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .

Display modes: Project Manager mode/Developer mode

The dashboard proposes 2 modes for viewing the project:
  • Project Manager mode
  • Developer mode
The Developer mode is used to display the different lights regarding:
  • the status of the project (number of elements, number of bugs, number of tests, ...).
  • the optimizations to perform.
  • the global quality of the project.
  • ...
The Project Manager mode is used to display graphic information regarding the progress status and the quality of a project. This mode requires a project monitoring and a list of requirements. See How to manage a development project for more details.
To change the display mode of the dashboard, click "Mode: Project Manager" or "Mode: Developer" displayed in the top left corner of the dashboard.

Changing the style of the dashboard

Several styles of dashboards are available. To change the style of your dashboard:
  1. Display the popup menu of the dashboard (right mouse click).
  2. Select "Appearance" and the name of the selected style (Classic, Default, ...).

Printing the dashboard information

The dashboard information can be printed:
  • from the dashboard ("Print the dashboard" button at the bottom right of the dashboard).
  • from the project documentation ("Print the documentation" button on the dashboard or "File .. Print the documentation").from the project documentation. To print the project documentation, use one of the following methods:
    • click the "Print the documentation" button on the dashboard.
    • on the "Home" pane, in the "General" group, expand and select "Print the project documentation".
The different sections of the project dashboard

Developer mode

The different sections of the dashboard are as follows:
1. Name of the project and view mode.
2. Counter: indicates the "quality" of the project. In the counter, you can:
  • clean the project.
  • save the project.
  • display the display options of the dashboard (by clicking the counter arrow).
3. Used to find out:
  • the number of bugs referenced in the Quality Control Center.
  • the validation rate of the application according to the different tests found in the project.
4. Gives quick access to the main elements of the project:
  • summary of the project elements ("Project" button)
  • code statistics ("Code" button)
    Different statistics are available for each contributor. The method for calculating the code statistics is as follows: the person responsible for a process (or procedure) is the last person who modified a code line in this process (or procedure).
  • documents associated with the project ("Document" button). You have the ability to create new documents.
  • models associated with the project ("Modeling" button). You have the ability to create new models.
  • analysis associated with the project ("Analysis" button). The analysis associated with the project can be created or modified.
  • UML diagram associated with the project ("UML" button). You have the ability to create or modify a UML diagram.
5. Used to view the characteristics of SCM for the project.
6. Used to find out whether the options are used (green) or not (red). A click performed on the option is used to configure it for the project. You have the ability to configure:

  • the new tasks to perform. These tasks have been entered in the Project Monitoring Center.
  • the new requests made by the users. These requests are stored in the Project Monitoring Center.
  • the new messages. These messages are visible in the messaging.
  • the business rules found in the project.
8. Used to quickly optimize the project. You have the ability to directly start the different audits:

The popup menu of the different listed elements is used to perform all the possible operations (open, run the test, see the code, remove the element from the project, ...).

10. Displays the different elements for the selected project configuration. The arrow found in the header of this area is used to select the active configuration among all the project configurations.
Dashboard options

Configuring the dashboard options

To configure the dashboard options:
  1. Display the dashboard options:
    • click the arrow found in the quality dial.
    • select "Dashboard options" from the popup menu of dashboard.
  2. Select the mode to configure (developer or project manager).
  3. Select the lights to configure and specify the different options for each light:
    • Bugs
    • Tests
    • Optimization (options for the dead code, the orphan elements, the profiler and the optimization of queries)
    • Monitoring (options for the task counter and for the request counter)
    • Cleaning the project
    • Saving the project
    • Quality of the project
Note: To use the configuration of the dashboard in another project or to give it to another developer, copy the ParamTBP.dat file found in the directory of the source project. The dashboard of the destination project will be automatically updated the next time it is opened.
