Description window of select query
Overview
The description window of a select query includes several sections. This description window is used to:
  • modify the items used in the query.
  • manage the selection conditions.
  • view the query in SQL code or in natural language.
  • manage the "duplicate" records.
  • ...
This description window is displayed:
  • when creating a Select query ("File .. New .. Query").when creating a Select query.
    Reminder: to create a query:
    • Click among the quick access buttons.
    • Click "Queries" in the wheel that is displayed. The window for creating a new element is displayed: click "Queries".
  • from a Select query found in the query editor ("Query description" from the popup menu of the query).
Description window of select query
In this window:
List of items that can be used in the query.
Actions that will be applied to each query item.
List of items taking part in the query.
Description of the selected item.
Query displayed in SQL code or in natural language.
Note: The floating help of this window (green and transparent help) is automatically displayed. The floating help is displayed when the mouse cursor does not move. To remove this help:
  • for the current session: press [Alt]+[F1] simultaneously.
  • permanently: display the configuration options of the query editor ("Tools .. Options .. Options of the editor") and check "Don't display the floating help".permanently:
    • display the configuration options of the query editor: on the "Home" pane, in the "Environment" group, expand "Options" and select "Options of the query editor".
    • check "Don't display the floating help".
