Overview
Very common among the PDAs, the Palm Pilot allows you to easily perform several operations:
  • typing information in the notepad,
  • managing a calendar and a task list,
  • managing a contact book.
These features are intended for the PalmDesktop version 1 to 4.1.2
PC and Palm Pilot
Supplied with the HotSync software, the Palm Pilot enables you to easily communicate with your PC and to update your personal data. To do so, rest the Palm Pilot on its stand and press the [HOTSYNC] key. The information found in the Palm Pilot and in your PC are automatically synchronized.
WINDEV and Palm Pilot
Two types of access to the Palm Pilot data are available in this version:
  • Access in write mode, used to add data to the different databases of the Palm Pilot: Notepad, task list, calendar, address book.
The data is added to the Palm Pilot database found on the PC and it is automatically included in the Palm Pilot during the next synchronization.
  • Access in read mode, used to read all the messages found in the different databases of the Palm Pilot: Notepad, task list, calendar, address book.
The messages are read on the Palm Pilot database found on the PC and they can be updated after a synchronization.
Caution: WINDEV only supports the tools that use a PALM OS system.

Special case: Palm Pilot using PalmDesktop with a version included between 4.1.0 and 4.1.2:

Some features are not supported when the task list is managed by a WINDEV application:
  • Unable to access the new data since a version later than version 4.1.0 was installed.
  • Adding a recurring task.
  • Modifying the repetition of a recurring task.
  • Modifying a recurring task: if the task information is linked to the à la repetition (deadline for example), the record may be inconsistent.
Minimum required version
  • Version 9
