Stored procedures
These functions are used to easily send and read SMSs:
SMSDeleteDeletes an SMS stored:
  • in the memory of Pocket PC or Smartphone.
  • in the memory of Android phone.
  • in the SIM card of Pocket PC or Smartphone.
SMSFirstReads the first SMS stored:
  • in the memory of Pocket PC or Smartphone (the executable must be signed).
  • in the memory of Android phone.
  • in the SIM card of Pocket PC or Smartphone.
SMSNbMessageReturns the number of SMSs stored or the maximum number of SMSs that can be stored:
  • in the memory of Pocket PC or Smartphone (the executable must be signed).
  • in the memory of Android phone.
  • in the SIM card of Pocket PC or Smartphone.
SMSNextReads the next SMS:
  • in the memory of Pocket PC or Smartphone (the executable must be signed).
  • in the memory of Android phone.
  • in the SIM card of Pocket PC or Smartphone.
SMSResetRe-initializes all the variables of the SMS structure.
SMSRunAppStarts the native application for sending SMSs found on the device (Android or iPhone/iPad).
SMSSendSends an SMS.

Reading and deleting the SMSs found on a Smartphone

To read and/or delete the SMSs found on a Smartphone (SMSNbMessage, SMSFirst, SMSNext or SMSDelete), the executable of the WINDEV Mobile application as well as its framework (lWinDev Mobile libraries) must be digitally signed. A certificate is required to perform this operation.
Note: The use of SMSSend and SMSReset does not require any specific signature.

[ + ] This example is used to create SMSs on a computer and to transfer them to a Pocket PC or to a Smartphone equipped with a SIM card in order to send them.
To use the PC Sending SMSs example, the Pocket Sending SMSs example must be installed on the Pocket PC or on the Smartphone.
A synchronization can be performed when the application is started to check whether SMSs must be sent or not.

How do I send an SMS from a Pocket PC or from a Smartphone with WINDEV Mobile?
All you have to do is use the SMS.XXX variables and the function named SMSSend():
  SMS.Message = "This is an SMS"
  SMS.Number  = "0612345678"
  SMSSend()
