Overview

WDGenPage

WEBDEV allows you to create semi-dynamic pages. A semi-dynamic page is used to create static pages from a database. This allows you to only install the generated static pages on the Web server. No engine or database is required on the Web server.
The generation of static pages corresponding to the semi-dynamic pages is required:
  • To run the test of the semi-dynamic pages of your site. The generation can be performed from the test data files.
  • During the final deployment of your site. The generation must be performed from the real data files.
This generation is performed by WDGenPage.
Starting WDGenPage
WDGenPage can be started:
  • In interactive mode, by selecting "Tools .. WDGenPage" or by running "WDGenPage.EXE" directly.In interactive mode:
    • from WEBDEV: on the "Tools" pane, in the "Web utilities" group, click "WDGenPage".
    • run "WDGenPage.EXE" found in the setup directory of WEBDEV.
  • From a command line.
Use conditions
WDGenPage can be redistributed. WDGenPage can be installed with the sites developed with WEBDEV. WDGenPage is installed by default with WEBDEV Deployment Version.
To use WDGenPage, WEBDEV must necessarily be installed on the current computer.

The different operations that can be performed by WDGenPage are as follows:
  • Generating static pages from the semi-dynamic pages of your site.
  • Running the test of generated static pages.
