Overview
To describe a project in details, you have the ability to associate documents with this project.
These documents can correspond to text files, images, scanned documents, ...
The list of documents associated with the project is displayed in the project documentation.
Associating a document with the project
You have the ability to associate a document with a project:

Associating a document in the wizard for project creation

To associate a document in the wizard for project creation:
  1. Go to the plane named "Description - Attached documents".
  2. To add an existing document, click the "Add an existing document" button and select the file to add. This file can be copied (or not) into the "Documents" sub-directory of the current project.
  3. To add a scanned document:
    • position the document to scan in a scanner accessible from the current computer.
    • click the "Scan a document" button.
    • if several scanners are accessible from the current computer, select the scanner that will be used.
    • specify the name of the scanned document. By default, this document is saved in the "Documents" sub-directory of the current directory.
  4. The documents associated with the project are listed.
  5. To delete a document from this list, select the document to delete and click the "Delete" button.
Note: In this wizard plane, you have the ability to create a skeleton of the folder for project specifications ("Generate a skeleton for the specification folder" button). A "<Project Name>.RTF" file is automatically created in the "Documents" sub-directory of the current project. This file contains the skeleton of the project specifications (objective, overview, task summary, ...) and it can be modified in the next plane.

Associating a document from the dashboard

To associate a document from the dashboard:
  1. Display the dashboard ("Project .. Project dashboard").Display the dashboard: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .
  2. Click the "N DOCUMENTS" button (N representing the number of documents associated with the project). The list of documents associated with the project is displayed.
  3. To add an existing document, click the "New" button, select "Select an existing document" and select the file to add. This file can be copied (or not) into the "Documents" sub-directory of the current project.
  4. To add a scanned document:
    • position the document to scan in a scanner accessible from the current computer.
    • click the "New" button and select "Scan a document".
    • if several scanners are accessible from the current computer, select the scanner that will be used.
    • specify the name of the scanned document. By default, this document is saved in the "Documents" sub-directory of the current directory.
  5. To create a new document and to associate it with the project directly, click the "New" button and select the type of document to create. The available types of documents correspond to the types of document that can be created on the current computer.
  6. To delete a document, select the document to delete and click the "Delete" button.
To associate a document from the dashboard:
  1. Display the dashboard: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .
  2. Display the "Documents" Widget if necessary:
    • Display the popup menu of the dashboard (right mouse click on an empty area).
    • Select the "Edit mode" option.
    • Re-display the popup menu of the dashboard.
    • Select "Add .. Documents".
    • Re-display the popup menu of the dashboard and select the "Edit mode" option.
  3. Click the "+" button in the "Documents" Widget.
    • To add an existing document, select "Select an existing document" then select the file to add. This file can be copied (or not) into the "Documents" sub-directory of the current project.
    • To add a scanned document:
      • Position the document to scan in a scanner accessible from the current computer.
      • Select the "Scan a document" option.
      • If several scanners are accessible from the current computer, select the scanner that will be used.
      • Specify the name of the scanned document. By default, this document is saved in the "Documents" sub-directory of the current directory.
To delete a document from the dashboard:
  1. Select the document to delete in the "Documents" widget.
  2. Display the popup menu of the document and select "Remove from project" or "Delete from disk".

You have the ability to view the documents associated with the project:

  1. Display the dashboard ("Project .. Project dashboard").Display the dashboard: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .
  2. Click the "N DOCUMENTS" button (N representing the number of documents associated with the project). The list of documents associated with the project is displayed.
  3. Select the document to view and click the "Open" button (or double-click the file to view directly).
To view a document from the dashboard:
  1. Display the dashboard: on the "Project" pane, in the "Project" group, click .
  2. In the "Documents" widget, display the popup menu of the document to view and select "Open" (or click the file to view directly).

Viewing a document from the "Project explorer" pane

To view a document from the "Project explorer" pane:
  1. Display the "Project explorer" pane ("Display .. Toolbars .. Panes .. Project explorer" for example).Display the "Project explorer" pane: on the "Home" pane, in the "Environment" group, expand "Panes" and select "Project explorer".
  2. Click the "Documents" element. The list of documents associated with the project is displayed.
  3. Select the document to view and select "Open" from the popup menu (or double-click the file to view directly).
