..VisualEffect is used to manage a visual effect on a control or on a group of controls found in a window. You can:
  • Find out the visual effect used for a control or for a group of controls.
  • Modify the visual effect used for a control or for a group of controls.

Finding out the visual effect used Hide the details

<Result> = <Control name>..VisualEffect
<Result>: Integer constant
Type of visual effect currently used by the control:
veNoneNo specific visual effect is applied to the control or to the group of controls. The display corresponds to a standard display.
veDdwThe control or the group of controls is grayed: the visual effect is identical to the one used by the DDW feature (Dim Disabled Windows).
veBlueShadeA blue shade is displayed on the control or on the group of controls.
<Control name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of control or group of controls to use.

Modifying the visual effect used Hide the details

<Control name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of control or group of controls to use.
<New visual effect>: Integer constant
New visual effect to apply to the control:
veNoneNo specific visual effect is applied to the control or to the group of controls. The display corresponds to a standard display.
veDdwThe control or the group of controls is grayed: the visual effect is identical to the one used by the DDW feature (Dim Disabled Windows).
veBlueShadeA blue shade is displayed on the control or on the group of controls.
