Overview
When moving a control in a window, in a page or in a report, guides are automatically displayed by the real-time interface checker (also called automatic positioning). The objects snap to the guides, allowing you to align the control moved with the other controls found in the window, the page or the report.

Using the automatic positioning in a window or in a page

To use the automatic positioning in a window or in a page:
  1. On the "Display" tab, click the dialog box launcher of the "Options" group:
  2. In the " Magnetism" tab, in "Automatic positioning", check "Enabled" and "Show rulers".
To avoid using the automatic positioning in a window, all you have to do is uncheck these options.

Using the automatic positioning in a report

To use the automatic positioning in a report: On the "Display" tab, in the "Editing help" group, check "Automatic positioning".
  • If this option is checked, the automatic positioning is enabled.
  • If this option is not checked, the automatic positioning is disabled.
