WEBDEV enables you to create static sites and/or dynamic sites. The main difference between these two types of sites is: the dynamic sites manage the data in an interactive mode while the static sites manage fixed data only.
A dynamic site can also include a static section (the presentation of the company for example).
Main differences between a static site and a dynamic site
Static siteDynamic site
The content of the pages is fixed, it is defined only once.
A static site cannot interact with data.
The data displayed in the pages changes.
In most cases, the pages are used to:
  • perform processes and/or calculations through programming
  • display and enter data stored in a database
  • display images and interactive text.
WEBDEV offers several types of dynamic sites:
  • WEBDEV site in session mode.
  • WEBDEV site in AWP mode.
  • PHP site.
Static WEBDEV site: no specific engine must be installed on the Web server. The WEBDEV Application Server is not required. Dynamic WEBDEV site:
  • A WEBDEV engine must be installed on the deployment server (a license for WEBDEV deployment version is required).
  • PHP language is required for a PHP site.
