..DisplayedValue is used to find out the value currently displayed on the screen in a window control or in a page control.

Syntax
<Displayed value> = <Control name>..DisplayedValue
<Displayed value>: Character string
Value currently displayed on the screen in the specified control.
<Control name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of control to use.
Remarks

Value displayed in an edit control

..DisplayedValue returns the formatted string with its input mask.

..DisplayedValue returns the HTML code found between the <BODY> and </BODY> tags.
Notes:
  • Universal Windows 10 App ..DisplayedValue has no effect on the HTML controls: this property does not return anything.

Value displayed in a Combo Box control

..DisplayedValue returns the formatted string displayed:
  • in the edit control if the Combo Box control is editable,
  • in the current row if the Combo Box control is not editable.

Note: using the gImage and gLink functions
To retrieve the content added by gImage and gLink, use ..InitialValue. For example, if the following code is used to add an element:

the following code is used to read the initial string again:

..DisplayedValue returns the formatted string displayed in the cell corresponding to the specified column and to the current row.

..DisplayedValue returns the formatted string displayed in the cell corresponding to the specified column and to the specified row.

Value displayed in a column of a Table control

..DisplayedValue returns the values of each column of the specified row separated by TAB characters.
Note: ..DisplayedValue does not return the value of invisible columns.

..DisplayedValue returns:
  • the caption of the element displayed in the specified row if a row number is specified,
  • the caption of the element displayed in the current row if no row number is specified.
