  • a Chart control: in this case, ..Source is used to find out the source of series: Table column, list of values, ...
    Notes:
  • a connection: in this case, ..Source is used to:
    • Find out the source of a connection (HFSQL Client/Server, OLE DB, ...).
    • Define the source of a connection (HFSQL Client/Server, OLE DB, ...). In this case, if the connection is currently opened, it will be closed and re-opened with the new parameters during the first access to a file that is using this connection.
Note: From version 19, HFSQL is the new name of HyperFileSQL.

Type of data source for the series:

  • Name of the server (for HFSQL Client/Server, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, ...)
  • Name of the file used as data source (for Access, XML, xBase, ...)

Defining the data source of the connection Hide the details

<Connection Name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of connection used. This name was defined:
<Data source>: Character string
  • Name or IP address of the server (for HFSQL Client/Server, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, ...).
  • Name of the file used as data source (for Access, XML, xBase, ...).

Equivalence

..Server is equivalent to ..Source.
These two properties are kept to make the code easier to understand. Indeed, during the connection (HFSQL Client/Server, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, ..), ..Server is more appropriate because a server name must be specified.
On the contrary, during an Access, XML or xBase connection, ..Source is more appropriate because a file must be specified.
