Smoothes a Line chart or a Scatter chart by using the "cubic splines" algorithm.
Reminder: A chart is not smoothed by default.

Smoothing a chart Hide the details

grSmoothing(<Chart name> , <Smoothing>)
<Chart name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of chart to use. This name corresponds to:
  • the chart name defined by programming with grCreate.
  • the name of Chart control found in the window editor, page editor or report editor.
<Smoothing>: Boolean
  • True if the smoothing must be enabled,
  • False otherwise.

<Chart name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of chart to use. This name corresponds to:
  • the chart name defined by programming with grCreate.
  • the name of Chart control found in the window editor, page editor or report editor.
<Series number>: Integer
Number of the series to smooth.
<Smoothing>: Boolean
  • True if the smoothing must be enabled,
  • False otherwise.

Remarks
The smoothing is taken into account:
  • in line charts (grCurve constant),
  • in scatter charts (grScatter constant) with linked points (grScatterLinkPoint).
Caution: This function has no effect on a 3D chart.
The parameters defined by grSmoothing will be taken into account during the next call to grDraw.
