Sorts the elements found in a memory zone. This sort is performed on the sort argument specified by MemAdd or MemModify.

Syntax
MemSort(<Memory zone> [, <Direction>])
<Memory zone>: Character string (with quotes)
Name of the memory zone, defined by MemCreate.
<Direction>: Optional boolean
  • True (default value) if the sort must be ascending,
  • False if the sort must be descending.
Remarks

Existence of memory zone

The existence of the memory zone is not checked.
If the specified memory zone does not exist, a WLanguage error occurs when MemSort is used.
To check the existence of a memory zone, use MemExist.

Sorting the elements

The sort is used by the browse functions (MemFirst, MemLast, MemNext and MemPrevious) and by MemSeek.
