This help page presents the specific features of "Reports & Queries" (which means the user version of report editor):

icon (found in the online help) indicates the differences between the user version of report editor and the standard report editor.

Specific features

Data source of report

The user version of report editor cannot be used to create:

reports on a HFSQL view. However, you have the ability to customize the reports based on a HyperFileSQL view created in the standard report editor (color, fonts, size, ...).
reports on a Table control. However, you have the ability to customize the reports on a Table control created in the standard report editor (color, fonts, size, linked column, ...).
Versions 17 and later
reports on an Organizer or Scheduler control. However, you have the ability to customize the reports on an Organizer or Scheduler control created in the standard report editor (color, fonts, size, linked column, ...).
New in version 17
reports on an Organizer or Scheduler control. However, you have the ability to customize the reports on an Organizer or Scheduler control created in the standard report editor (color, fonts, size, linked column, ...).

reports on a programmed data source.

Functions for modifying records

The functions for modifying the records (HAdd, HModify, HDelete, ...) cannot be called in the user version of the report editor.

Dockable panes

In the user version of report editor, the docked panes allow you to access:

the main features of the user version of report editor.
the accessible elements (reports, queries, ...) of your project.

Custom skin templates of reports

The user version of the report editor does not allow you to create your own skin templates of reports.

"Reports & Queries" does not allow the end user to modify a report found in an external component.
