Programming by preset action
Overview
The programming by preset action allows you to describe the code of an event in a single click, by selecting an action from a list, without having to write one single line of code.
For example:
Running the click code of Button control and opening the window
Running the click code of Button control and opening the window
Initializing a component, the parameters are specified in the interface
The preset actions are proposed:
  • on Button controls (in the event "Click").
  • WINDEV Mobile on menu options.
How to proceed?

Defining a preset action

To define a preset action:
  1. Display the description window of control ("Description" from the popup menu).
  2. Select the action to run in the "Action" combo box.
    The most common actions are proposed in this list. To select a more specific action, click the "All the actions" button or the "Other actions" button.
The actions proposed depend on the elements found in the current project (windows, pages, component, procedure, ...).
WINDEV Mobile Note: To choose the preset action, you also have the ability to select "Preset action..." from the popup menu of the control.

Information displayed in the code editor

When a preset action is used, an information indicating this preset action is specified in the code editor.
For example:

A click on the preset action displayed in the code editor displays the window for selecting preset actions. Therefore, the preset action can be modified from the code editor directly.
New in version 16
A click on the preset action displayed in the code editor displays the window for selecting preset actions. Therefore, the preset action can be modified from the code editor directly.
A click on the preset action displayed in the code editor displays the window for selecting preset actions. Therefore, the preset action can be modified from the code editor directly.
Caution: Any WLanguage code entered in the code editor after the call to the preset action will not be run.
To include a preset action in a WLanguage code, use ExecutePresetAction.

Running a preset action by programming

WINDEV also allows you to run a preset action by using ExecutePresetAction.
