From version 17, this feature is not available anymore. To use Google AdWords, see the corresponding Google API: https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/start
Google AdWords proposes the "Ad Service". This service is used to manage the Google ads found in an ad group. Each ad group can contain one or more ads, that can have different formats. An ad can be enabled, disabled or paused. Only the enabled ads will be visible. An ad cannot exist on its own: it must be associated with an ad group.
The different types of ads are:
  • Image ad:
The image ads are graphic AdWords ads. They are displayed on some sites of the Google network. The image ads can be related to the content of the pages on which they are displayed.
  • Local business ad:
The local business ads are AdWords ads that are associated with a specific business location. They are displayed on Google, on Google Maps and on the entire Google ad network.
  • Mobile ad:
The mobile ads are text AdWords ads appearing on the mobile Web sites or when a Web user performs a search on Google from a cell phone.
  • Mobile image ad:
The mobile illustrated ads are graphic AdWords ads. They are displayed on mobile Web sites.
  • Text ad:
The text ads are ads containing text only.
  • Video ad:
A video ad played on a page is displayed as a static opening image. The video is played when the user clicks this image or the play button. If the user clicks the URL displayed at the bottom of the ad or the ad itself while the video is played, it is automatically redirected to the specified Web site.
This help page explains how to use the "AdGroup Service" with the available WLanguage functions.
Reminder: To handle the Google AdWords service by programming, you must necessarily use the Google AdWords APIs. These APIs have a cost associated to them. GglAdWGetMethodCost is used to estimate the cost of each function.
Warning: Before using a feature linked to Google services, we strongly recommend that you check the license for using this service. Some restrictions may apply. The content of the licenses may change over time.
PC SOFT is in no case responsible for the way the native access functions are used. Make sure that you comply with the license of the service provider.
Caution: If you are using a proxy to access Internet, the proxy must be configured (Proxy) to use the Google functions.
How to proceed?

Creating an ad

Caution: An ad must be associated with an ad group.: it cannot exist on its own. Before creating an ad, you must create an ad group.
  1. Create a variable corresponding to the type of ad to create:
  2. For each type of variable, specify:
    • the DestinationURL property that defines the URL used in the ad: the users will have the ability to click this link in your ad.
    • the DisplayedURL property, that will correspond to the caption of the destination URL.
    • GroupIdentifier, that corresponds to the ad group to which the ad belongs.
  3. Use GglWrite.
  • If several types of ads must be created at the same time, we advise you to use an array of variants containing the different types of ads to create.
  • We recommend that you use GglAdWCheckAd in order for the ads to comply with the use conditions of service.

Updating an ad

To update an ad:
  1. Retrieve the requested ad (with the following functions):
    Versions 14 and later

Retrieves the characteristics of a Google AdWords ad.

Retrieves the list of ads found in a Google AdWords ad group.

Remark: When retrieving ads from an ad group, the result is found in an array of variants. Indeed, the group of ads can be associated with several types of ads. To find out the type of ad, use Class.
    AMobileAd is gglAdWMobileAd
    AdType is string = arrMyAds[1]..Class
    IF AdType ~= "gglAdWMobileAd" THEN
            AMobileAd = arrMyAds[1]
  2. Modify the variable corresponding to the ad to modify.
  3. Use GglWrite to update the modified ads.
