Actions applied to the query items
This section of the description window of a query is used to define the different actions that will be applied to the query items.
Available actions
Number 1Item the actions will be applied to.
Number 2Allows you to:
  • display (or not) the values of selected item in the query result.
  • rename the selected item in the query result (create an alias).
Number 3Sorts the values of selected item in the query result.
Number 4Adds a new item to the query result. This item corresponds to:
  • the number of records found in a group of records.
  • the number of records found in a data file.
Number 5Adds a new item to the query result. This item corresponds to the sum of a group of records.
Number  6Adds a new item to the query result. This item corresponds to:
  • the mean for a group of records.
  • the minimum value for a group of records.
  • the maximum value for a group of records.
Number 7Modifies the values displayed in the query result. You have the ability to display:
  • the year from a date item.
  • the month from a date item.
Number 8Defines the selection conditions. You can:
  • apply a selection condition to the selected item.
  • modify and/or delete an existing condition.
  • modify the sequence of existing conditions.
Number 9Selects the records corresponding to a given period.
Number 10Selects the first n records or the last n records displayed in the query result.
Number 11Deletes (or not) the "duplicate" records from the query result.
Number 12Allows you to:
  • specify the type of database used (HFSQL, Oracle or other).
  • manage the joins (add, modify, delete, reinitialize).
  • check (or not) the SQL syntax used (in test mode only).
  • specify the runtime option (optimizing the memory used, checking the file format, ...).
  • specify whether the query is visible in "Reports & Queries".
