XMLElementName (Function)
In french: XMLNomElément
Returns the name of the current element (tag or attribute). To select an element, use the functions for XML search and browse (XMLFirst, XMLLast, XMLChild, ...).
TagName is string
// Retrieves the name of current element
TagName = XMLElementName("XMLDoc")

Syntax
<Result> = XMLElementName(<XML document>)
<Result>: Character string
  • Name of current element.
  • Empty string ("") if there is no current element. In this case, the ErrorOccurred variable is set to True. To get more details on the error, use ErrorInfo.
<XML document>: Character string
Name of the XML document used. This document contains the XML code to study and it was created by XMLDocument.
Remarks

Identifying the current element

  • The type of current element is returned by XMLElementType.
  • The value of current element is returned by XMLData.

XML functions and threads

If your application uses threads, the XML document is shared between all these threads. For more details on threads, see Managing threads.
