Displays a WEBDEV frameset in the browser of Web user and closes all the current page and frameset contexts.
If FramesetUse is used in a button code, the frameset will be opened in the target defined for this button ("General" tab of control description or ChangeTarget).

Syntax
FramesetUse(<Frameset Name> [, <Parameter 1> [... [, <Parameter N>]]])
<Frameset Name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of frameset to display.
If this parameter is equal to an empty string (""), the frameset name is the name of the frameset to which the current process belongs.
<Parameter 1>: Type of value sent to the page (optional)
Parameters expected by the opening process of the frameset to open. These parameters are passed by address and they are considered as being variables global to the frameset and to all the frameset pages.
<Parameter N>: Type of value sent to the page (optional)

Remarks

Retrieving parameters

To retrieve the parameters, in the declaration process of global variables of frameset, specify the following line at the beginning of process:
PROCEDURE <Frameset Name>(<Parameter 1> [,...[, <Parameter N>]])

Principle for opening a frameset

The following operations are performed by FramesetUse:
  • create a frameset context on the server.
  • create a page context on the server for all the frameset pages on the server.
  • send the frameset back to the browser of Web user.

Processes run when opening the frameset

The following processes are run when displaying the frameset:
  • Opening code of frameset.
  • Opening the frameset pages.
  • WLanguage code following the call to FramesetUse (if it exists).

Multilingual sites

FramesetUse can be used for the multilingual sites. Indeed, this function is used to reopen a frameset while taking into account the language specified by Nation.

If your project is using cached sessions, this function must not be used in the "Initializing the project" process. This function must be used in the "Initializing the project after connection to the site" process.

  • To re-display a frameset, we recommend that you use FramesetRefresh.
  • To display a frameset without closing the contexts opened on the server, we recommend that you use FramesetDisplay.
  • You should not use WLanguage code after a call to FramesetUse.
