What is a query performed on a connection?

A query performed on a connection is a query performed on data files handled via a specific ODBC driver or via a Native Access.

When the connection is created, you have the ability to define:
  • the name of the connection
  • the name of the data source
  • the user name and password
  • the name of the database accessed (if there is more than one).
The report editor allows you to print the data coming from a query performed on a connection. All the parameters of the connection to use can be defined in the report editor or by programming with the WLanguage properties.
..ODBCConnectionName is used to:
  • Find out the name of the ODBC connection used when printing a report based on a "query performed on a connection".
  • Specify the name of the ODBC connection used when printing a report based on a "query performed on a connection".
Note: This property must be used in the opening code of report.
Example
// -- Opening code of report
RPT_Report1..ODBCConnectionName = "MyConnection"
RPT_Report1..ODBCSQLCode = "Select * from Products"
RPT_Report1..ODBCUserName = "MOORE"
RPT_Report1..ODBCPassword = "PSW"
Syntax

Finding out the name of the connection used when printing a report based on a "query performed on a connection" Hide the details

<Result> = <Report Name>..ODBCConnectionName
<Result>: Character string
Name of connection used when printing a report based on a query performed on a connection.
<Report Name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of report to use.

Specifying the name of the connection to use when printing a report based on a "query performed on a connection" Hide the details

<Report Name>..ODBCConnectionName = <Connection to Use>
<Report Name>: Character string (with or without quotes)
Name of report to use.
<Connection to Use>: Character string (with quotes)
Name of connection to use in order to perform the base query of the report via the ODBC driver or via a Native Access. This connection name must be defined in the administrator of the driver or Native Access used on the current computer.
Remarks

Properties used to manage reports based on data files accessed via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access

The following properties are used to manage reports based on fdata iles accessed via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access:
ODBCSQLCodeUsed to find out and modify the SQL code of the query performed on a database accessed via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access.
ODBCPasswordUsed to find out and modify the password associated with the user allowed to access a database via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access.
ODBCDatabaseNameUsed to find out and modify the name of the database used by the query performed on a database accessed via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access.
ODBCConnectionNameUsed to find out and modify the name of the connection used to access a database via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access.
ODBCUserNameUsed to find out and modify the name of the user allowed to access a database via an ODBC driver or via a Native Access.

Limit
